About this policy
This policy explains how Trading Kitchen ("we", "us") handles information when you visit our website or join our email list. For questions or privacy requests, email contact@pretiola.org.
Our email list
We use Buttondown to send the updates you request. Subscribing provides your email address to Buttondown, which also processes signup timestamps, subscription status, IP address, referral information, and delivery, bounce, complaint and unsubscribe records. This supports confirmation, delivery and spam prevention. Replies sent through Buttondown are processed by the service and made available to us.
Email open and click tracking are turned off. Email links include UTM campaign labels identifying the newsletter and issue. Buttondown may still process security signals, including automated link checks, to protect subscriptions and delivery.
Joining the list is separate from allowing website analytics or advertising. We do not sell the email list or send subscriber email addresses to Google Analytics. Unsubscribe using the link in any newsletter. To request access, correction or deletion, contact us.
Unsubscribing stops future newsletters; it does not automatically erase every record. Buttondown may retain a suppression record to prevent unwanted resubscription. Other records remain as needed for the subscription, security or legal obligations. Deletion requests may require a separate permanent-deletion step, and backups expire separately. See Buttondown's privacy policy and deletion information.
Optional analytics and audience insights
With permission, Google Analytics 4 helps us understand visits and improve recipes and site content. It collects page views, engagement, referring sites, cookie identifiers, browser and device details, and approximate location derived from network information. These identifiers are pseudonymous, not anonymous.
Allow analytics only permits site measurement while our tag disables Google Signals and advertising personalization. Allow analytics and advertising also permits audience and advertising features. Google may associate visits with signed-in Google account information when the person's Google settings allow it, supporting demographic and interest reports, cross-device insights and personalized advertising through linked services where configured. We receive reports, not access to individual Google account histories.
These are insights about our own audience using Google's services. We do not send names, email addresses, account User-IDs or user-provided data to Analytics. Our integration removes query strings and fragments from page addresses and limits referrers to their origin.
Cookies and your choices
The Google tag stays blocked until you allow it. You can reject optional collection and still use the site and email signup. Change or withdraw your choice through Privacy choices in the footer. A Global Privacy Control signal prevents advertising features, even if an earlier choice allowed them.
The essential tradingkitchen_privacy cookie stores your versioned preference for up to 180 days. If permitted, Analytics uses cookies such as _ga and _ga_NMY1V4BQVB. Our tag limits them to 180 days without extending expiry on each visit. With advertising consent, Google may combine these first-party identifiers with its advertising cookies or identifiers for the audience and advertising features described above.
Withdrawal stops future collection by our tag and removes Analytics cookies we can access. It cannot erase information already received by Google or cookies on Google's domains. Cookie expiry is separate from data retention: our Analytics settings keep event data for 2 months and user data for 14 months, with user retention renewed by new activity. Aggregate reports and Google account information can follow different rules.
You can also use Google My Activity, My Ad Center or Google's Analytics opt-out add-on.
Hosting and service providers
GitHub Pages hosts this site and logs visitor IP addresses for security, independently of optional analytics. Google and Buttondown process information to provide their services; processing may occur outside your country, including in the United States. We may disclose information when required by law.
See GitHub's privacy statement, Google's partner-site information, Google's privacy policy and Buttondown's data-processing agreement. Their policies describe their own processing and controls.
Rights, security and children
Contact us to request access, correction or deletion, or to withdraw consent. We may need to verify your identity. Depending on applicable law, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, obtain a portable copy, or complain to your privacy regulator.
We limit access to the information we handle, but no system is completely secure. This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. Contact us if a child has subscribed.
Changes
We will publish changes here with an updated date and seek new consent when required for materially different uses.
